Dylan Grainger got the Easter Ross side off the mark in the first half after a goal line call from referee Colin MacDonald went in their favour.

Sean McAllister doubled their advantage soon after with a low driven shot which snuck just inside the post.

The third arrived courtesy of a looping backward header from Arran Thain.

Thain doubled his contribution early in the second half, chipping the Clach keeper who had been caught off his line.

A penalty kick award provided United with their fifth goal of the afternoon – Cameron Grant doing the needful – and with a deflected effort, Rory Cameron made it six.

The Lilywhites' misery was made worse when Lewis Patience was shown a second yellow card and given his marching orders.

And the ten men of Clach could do nothing to stop Alness notching a seventh as McAllister found the net with a downward header.

A goal from Cruz Hastings was all that separated the sides at Bught Park as Inverness Athletic secured a narrow victory over Wick Academy to hold their place at the top of the Highland League – North table.

The Inverness side sit two points clear of Alness United, having dropped just three points so far.

St Duthus were beaten by four goals to nil at Speyside High School in Aberlour, as Rothes turned on the style in the second half to complete a convincing victory.

Euan Masson opened the scoring just after the half hour mark and the Tain remained in pursuit of an equaliser until the 60th minute when Jack McConnachie doubled the home side's advantage.

Kenzie Shepherd made sure of the win with a goal on 77 minutes, and nine minutes later, McConnachie netted his second to wrap up the points.

Nairn County secured another three points to consolidate their top half spot in the table, beating visitors Keith by 2 goals to 0. A goal either side of half time was enough for County, who netted through Taylor Lawson and Joshua Stephenson.

Elsewhere, Lossiemouth made short work of bottom placed side Buckie Thistle, dealing them a 5–1 drubbing.
