Alness athlete Adian Williamson will be in action when he represents Inverness City Boxing Club next weekend.
The former intermediate and novice champion will be part of the squad which takes on Glasgow City Boxing Club at the Ironworks in Inverness on Saturday, September 28.
Williamson will face off against Faros Mahmoud with both fighters are being touted among the most promising boxing prospects in the country.
Coach Laurie Redfern is expecting a big performance from Williamson but is confident he is up to the challenge.
“Adian has had 14 bouts and he has won 12 of them,” he said.
“That is an excellent record when you are starting off in boxing.
“He has beaten some excellent fighters to achieve the record he has.
“I am looking forward to the future with him. He puts everything into his training and is a great prospect.
“He started in the sport young and he has come on leaps and bounds since.”
Williamson is part of the Inverness team that consists of team captain Callum Turnbull who has been out for a year due to a wrist injury.
He will be marking his comeback when he takes on Peter Oswald in one of the most anticipated clashes of the evening.
Other fights on the night include Inverness boxer Peter Stewart who will be facing up against Sean MacAfferty.
For the first time Inverness City Boxing Club will have two female bouts on the bill with Nicola Rattray and Inga Mackenzie, who is making her debut, competing on the night.
The youngest team member is 11-year-old Robert Stewart who has won two bouts in his young career and is touted as a promising prospect.
There will be five other bouts on the bill and the experienced George Stewart will be making an appearance during the evening.
