'Wrap up' appeal to pupils ahead of return to Black Isle classrooms as Covid precautions stepped up

PARENTS of pupils at a Black Isle primary school are being advised to dress their children appropriately as windows will be open.

Schools are preparing for the return of pupils following the festive break.

Over that period, the omicron wave – the latest phase of the Covid-19 crisis – has prompted precautions aimed at curbing its spread.

Schools across Ross-shire have been issuing advice ahead of Thursday's return.

Amongst them is Avoch Primary which tonight posted: "We hope you had lovely holidays and we look forward to welcoming everyone back.

"Just a reminder, as per government guidance, to increase ventilation windows will be open so please dress children accordingly.

"Please continue to inform the school if you are waiting for PCR results or if you have had a positive LFT."
