A Strathpeffer man has been ordered to carry out 60 hours of unpaid work after assaulting his partner at an address in Mieklefield Road in Dingwall.

At Inverness Sheriff Court depute fiscal Rowena Carlton told Sheriff David Sutherland Keith Walton said the woman was lying on a sofa and was wakened by Keith Walton.

There was a struggle and he pushed her and the disturbance was heard by someone in a neighbouring flat.

Walton, of Ord Terrace, Strathpeffer admitted the offence on March 6 this year.

His solicitor Michael Chapman said the couple had been in a relationship on an off for a number of years and they were anxious to reconcile.
