AS some areas marked the warmest day of the year so far this week, woolly jumpers were still the order of the day in Wester Ross.

While parts of the Highlands recorded temperatures above 20C, the mercury nudged over 29C further south during the warmest spell.

Inverpolly Estate in the northwest Highlands shared some joyful footage yesterday of lambs full of the joys and gambolling across a field against a stunning scenic backdrop.

Last month, we shared a delightful picture from Inverpolly of Betty the ewe showing off her newborn lamb.

And then we shared the story of Northern Lights, the lamb born under a stunning show of the aurora borealis on a croft near Lochcarron.

Inverpolly Estate yesterday posted: “29 degrees down south today! You are having a laugh, I was needing my woolly hat here! Lambs full of beans or maybe just keeping warm.”
