Tain care home Innis Mhor steps out for Highland Hospice
STAFF and residents at an Easter Ross care home are going the extra mile - and then some - this month.
Innis Mhor in Tain has launched a ‘Mile a Day in May’ walking and wheeling challenge to raise funds for its charity partner, Highland Hospice.
Residents and staff are aiming to complete a mile each day throughout the month, setting off from the care home around 11am.
The team is encouraging members of the local community to join them on the walk whenever they can.
Care home manager Kate Walker said: “On our first couple of walks it’s been a bit blustery and drizzly, but the fresh air has done us all good and there have been plenty of laughs along the way.
“It’s been lovely walking past the houses and getting smiles and a wave from our neighbours.
“We’re hoping the challenge will boost our wellbeing and help raise money for a charity that means a lot to many people here.
“Everyone’s welcome to come along and take part – just meet us at Innis Mhor every day in May around 11am.”
