Whisky lovers from all over the world expected in the Highlands for annual festival
Whisky lovers from all over the world will descend on Dornoch next weekend for the town’s annual whisky festival.
The festival kicks off on Friday, October 25, and runs until Sunday, October 27, with more than 20 whisky-themed events ranging from masterclasses led by experts to paired whisky dinners.
A highlight of the packed programme is the Grand Tasting, which traditionally takes place on Saturday.
A spokesperson for the festival said: “This year to accommodate even more whisky enthusiasts, we’ve split the event into two sessions, a morning tasting from 11.30am-2pm and an afternoon session from 3.30pm to 6.30pm.
“Across both sessions, we expect to host around 400 attendees, who will have the opportunity to sample a remarkable selection of Scotland’s finest whiskies.
“With over 20 prestigious exhibitors, the drams will undoubtedly be superb, but it’s about more than just the whisky.
“The Grand Tasting is a chance to meet industry experts, connect with fellow whisky lovers, and explore a range of classic malts and rare editions, all crafted to delight the palate.”
Festival organisers are working with local businesses including the Carnegie Whisky Cellars, Dornoch Castle Hotel, Dornoch Distillery, the Eagle Hotel, Links House at Royal Dornoch, Royal Dornoch Golf Club, and the Royal Golf Hotel.
Known for its intimate and welcoming atmosphere, the festival proudly embraces its identity as a “wee festival that offers a truly big whisky experience”.
The spokesperson said: “Whether you are a seasoned connoisseur or just beginning your whisky journey, the Dornoch Whisky Festival has something for everyone.
“Our diverse range of events over the weekend ensures that there is a whisky experience tailored to every palate and level of expertise.”
