Eastgate Shopping Centre, in partnership with Highland Action for Little Ones (HALO), has launched Wheels of Hope 2025: STRIDE to Shine — a community-driven campaign aimed at raising vital funds and awareness for children and families across the Highlands.

Building on the momentum of 2024, this year’s event encourages individuals, gym members, families, and teams to cycle, walk or run their way to 4200 miles — the total distance between Inverness, Scotland, and Inverness, Florida. Whether on a spin bike, out on a trail, or simply walking the dog, everyone is invited to take part and contribute at their own pace. All activity counts, and all ages and fitness levels are welcome.

Participants are encouraged to log their miles and share their journey using #RideOrStrideToShine. Free fundraising packs, including sponsorship forms and campaign materials, are available at eastgateshopping.co.uk

The campaign will culminate in a final community event, “STRIDE to the Finish”, on Saturday, June 28, held within Eastgate and supported by Anytime Fitness. Everyone is welcome to join and help power the final miles.

Chris Kershaw, centre manager at Eastgate, commented: "We’re proud to continue supporting this fantastic initiative with HALO. The community’s enthusiasm last year was incredible, and we’re confident 2025 will be even bigger. Every mile walked or cycled directly supports vulnerable children across our region."

Mel Thomson, founder of HALO, added: "Last year’s event was a heart-warming reminder of how generous and committed our community is. The funds raised had a tangible impact on the support we could offer. We’re so grateful to Eastgate and everyone who gets involved. This year’s goal may be ambitious, but together, it’s absolutely achievable."

Donations can be made via the official JustGiving page at: justgiving.com/campaign/wheels-of-hope-2025, or in person at the “Stride to the Finish” event on June 28.
