A WESTER Ross postie has been given a fond farewell from grateful customers after serving his community for 28 years.

Local people of Shieldaig and surrounding villages filled Shieldaig Hall to mark the retirement of the very popular postman, Iain Livingstone.

Iain has served the community for almost three decades and despite many extremes of weather, road conditions and challenges with his van, he has always been entirely reliable with his deliveries.

He has also been good humoured and kind, often going beyond his duties to help those in need.

Iain was presented with a poem, garden centre voucher, a plum tree, a themed cake, and the heartfelt good wishes of everyone who knows him.
