A Wester Ross mother of two has been fined £420 and banned from driving for a year.

But 37-year-old Alexandria Bajcura, of Island View, Achiltibuie, will have the ban reduced by a total of three months if she is able to pass a drink-drive rehabilitation course.

Inverness Sheriff Court heard last week that Bajcura, who admitted drink-driving and driving without insurance, was stopped by police in Rose Street, Inverness on April 5 last year because of concerns about her driving.

She gave a test reading of 70mcgs per 100ml of breath. The permitted level is 22mcgs.
