STORMY seas in the Minch could spark ferry cancellations on the Ullapool-Stornoway crossing later today and overnight.

CalMac has urged passengers to keep tabs on its website's service updates page for the latest information.

Commenting earlier, it said: "Due to adverse weather forecast the 5.30pm sailing departing Ullapool will be liable to disruption or cancellation at short notice."

They also warned that the ferry's overnight freight sailings from Stornoway (10.30pm) and Ullapool (3am) are also subject to possible disruption and delay.

And they added that passenger sailings on Saturday might also be affected.
