Tern TV, who produce the BBC's Beechgrove Garden, recently filmed the Sitooterie Wildlife Viewing Garden.

Filming took place over a five-hour period and there was extensive coverage of the garden planting.

Several of the Sitooterie volunteers were also filmed in action during the day.

The programme is being transmitted on Friday at 7.30pm on BBC2 and then on Sunday at 9am on BBC2. It can also be viewed on BBC iPlayer after the TV transmission.

The Sitooterie has won 10 national awards to date from Keep Scotland Beautiful and the Royal Horticultural Society and is very popular with both locals and visitors.

Team member David Carruthers said that it had been a wonderful day.

"In the middle of an awful summer, the sun shone all day and the garden looked magnificent. We are keeping our fingers crossed for excellent coverage, hopefully reflecting the great work done by volunteers from Team Sitooterie".

The Sitooterie began in 2015 when members of the local community funded the clearing of a small area amid the totally overgrown gorse that dominated the verge alongside Pier Road. Since then the garden has steadily expanded to become its current 206-metre length.

A previous Keep Scotland Beautiful assessment stated: “The whole team that are part of the delivery, maintenance and support of the Sitooterie together bring the synergy that all successful ventures display.

“This culminates in a most successful achievement that gives immense pleasure to the many people who visit and benefit from your efforts, in so many ways.

"You have a winning formula which you can hopefully pass on to other generations to ensure the longevity of the Sitooterie, for years to come. It was a pleasure and honour to meet you all."

The programme will be screened on Friday at 7:30pm on BBC 2, and Sunday at 9am on BBC 2. It'll also be available to view on BBC iPlayer.
