Strongmen brothers Tom and Luke Stoltman bring plough to Invergordon church blessing





THE world’s strongest brothers were on hand to help mark an agricultural tradition ahead of a major Scottish championship clash beginning today.

The 60th Scottish Ploughing Championships are being hosted at Newmore Farm near Invergordon over the next two days.

Three-time world’s strongest man winner Tom Stoltman and brother Luke will make an appearance at the event close to home tomorrow - and were a key part yesterday in a blessing of the plough ceremony in Invergordon yesterday.

It was held at Invergordon Church of Scotland and honours a tradition dating back centuries.

The Scottish Ploughing Championships social media page posted: “Things are really starting to heat up a head of the 60th Scottish Ploughing Championships.

”What better way to formally start proceedings, than by joining us for the annual church service and blessing of the plough ahead of this year’s championships.”

It took place at Invergordon Parish Church on the town’s Castle Road.

Four teams of horse-drawn ploughs, two from Scotland, one from England and one from Wales.
