Floral tributes placed after death of Alness boy Craig Melville (16) following tragic accident on B9176 in Easter Ross

HEARTFELT floral tributes have been placed following a tragic road accident which claimed the life of an Easter Ross boy.

Craig Melville, who was 16, died as a result of the accident on the B9176 on Saturday night.

The Alness teenager's family said they were devastated by the loss and requested that their privacy be respected.

They said in a family statement: "Craig was a loving son, grandson, boyfriend, nephew, cousin and friend, much loved and is dearly missed."

One message says: "Can't believe it man, the most kind-hearted human to grace this earth. Love you more and more bro. Fly high till we meet again big man. Love you millions."

Another states: "RIP bro.Friends forever."

A 39-year-old man and 15-year-old girl remain in hospital as a result of the crash.

A 22-year-old woman was also taken to hospital, but has since been released.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the accident, or anyone who may have dashcam footage which could assist them, to make contact.
