YOUNG environmental campaigners in Wester Ross were given an unexpected treat from nature while out training at the weekend.

Ullapool Sea Savers focus much of their attention on raising awareness of threats to the marine environment and raising awareness of the wonders it contains.

Some were undergoing powerboat training at the weekend and once finished were taken on a boat trip – when they were joined by a pod of dolphins.

The group later posted: "We didn’t realise this was Amy, our grey seal ambassador’s, first dolphin encounter!

"Not a bad first encounter, under the mountain and in some fantastic light."
