Children in an Easter Ross village have been delivered a summer holidays boost after the first phase of a makeover at their local playpark was unveiled.

Volunteers helping the Seaboard Centre gave up their time this past week to install a range of new equipment and colourful items to spruce up the park, which sits across from the building in between Balintore and Hilton.

The new modifications include a story tellers chair, buddy benches, springy fish and a Green Cross Code bench.

Although there are more modifications to be made, the park has now been opened to the public, and the centre are also offering ready-made picnic boxes for park goers to enjoy.

Centre organisers say that more equipment is still to arrive and be installed before its formal unveiling.

A representative for the Seaboard Centre said: “We are delighted that some of our new equipment has been installed in the playpark, thanks to our volunteers.

“The park is now open for all to enjoy. It is a safe, secure park for the kids. We are also offering kids’ take away boxes for people to order, for picnics at the playpark and beach over the holidays.

“We have a few more things to do over the next few weeks so watch this space.”
