VOLUNTEERS are being sought in Ross-shire to help people in the community get the supplies they need during the lockdown.

The charity, Highland Third Sector Interface (HTSI), has called for drivers in Invergordon and Alness to deliver food parcels and prescriptions to those who are unable to get out of their house.

An email sent to registered volunteers with HTSI also asked for anyone willing to volunteer in the region to sign up to its database.

A spokeswoman for HTSI said: “Do you stay in Invergordon? Do you have a couple of hours free on a Tuesday to help with deliveries of food parcels?

“If so, please contact us at volunteering@highlandtsi.org.uk to register your interest and state ‘deliveries’ as your preference.”

It continued: “Do you stay in Invergordon and Alness areas? Could you help collect and deliver prescriptions to those in need?

“If this sounds like something you would like to be involved with, please register your interest by emailing volunteering@highlandtsi.org.uk and stating ‘prescriptions’ as your preference.”

It added: “We will be continuing to contact those who have signed up to help with volunteering opportunities in Highland."
