'Virtual valuations' in and around Ross-shire as Bonhams adapts to Covid-19 restrictions

VIRTUAL valuations are being offered to collectors and antique buffs in and around Ross-shire this week.

Bonhams will be conducting the free online valuation appointments as they adapt to the coronavirus lockdown.

Items of interest include art and antiques ranging from pictures, silver, jewellery, ceramics, glass, clocks, works of art, furniture and Asian items as well as collectibles such as whisky.

The auctioner says it has over 400 sales a year in more than 60 categories at salerooms in Edinburgh, London, New York, Paris, Los Angeles, Sydney and Hong Kong.

A rare early 18th century silver mounted three-lugged quaich by Hugh Ross of Tain and Robert Anderson of Inverness sold for £12,500.

The valuations in the Highlands are being carried out this week from Tuesday to Thursday.
