Easter Ross threats man used blood to draw pictures in prison cell, Highland sheriff told





A man has been sentenced to 14 months in prison after using his own blood to draw pictures in his cell and shouting and swearing at his ex-partner and uttering threats of violence.

Gavin Hampton (26) acted in an aggressive manner on October 7, 2024 at Milnafua, Alness.

On the same date between Alness, Raigmore Hospital and Burnett Road Police Station, Hampton repeatedly shouted and swore at police officers, kicked the cell door in the police vehicle and uttered threats of violence towards police and his ex-partner.

Hampton, who is currently serving another sentence at HMP Grampian, pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening and abusive manner.

Another charge was found not proven by a jury at Inverness Sheriff Court.

Sheriff Gary Aitken sentenced Hampton to 14 months in prison backdated to October 8 and placed a non-harassment order on him to not contact his ex-partner.
