Ross County Football Club chairman Roy MacGregor has become the latest participant in the over-70 challenge.

The club's co-manager Steven Ferguson laid down the gauntlet on Twitter last Friday, challenging people to do 70 keepie-ups to show support for the first group of people told to stay at home during the coronavirus outbreak – people over 70 years old – as well as staying active.

Several first team players have taken up the challenge in the last 24 hours, with midfielder Don Cowie pledging to donate £50 to the NHS for every teammate that completes it, and now the Staggies' chairman has gotten in on the act.

He said: “I’m just doing my wee bit to give people a bit of a laugh, more than anything, by being involved with everyone else that’s been doing it.

“It really seems to have captured the imagination. It was a great idea from our co-manager Steven Ferguson and keeps people involved and active.

“Maybe some people doing it well and me making a fool of myself will brighten people up and give them a wee chance to do some exercise."
