‘Very experienced’ Wester Ross walker rescued after broken ankle
A “VERY experienced” Wester Ross walker with a broken ankle was rescued earlier this week.
Kintail Mountain Rescue team were called out on Tuesday night at around 6pm, to an injured walker on the South Shiel Ridge. The incident occurred as the party were descending off the hill, and one of the group sustained a broken ankle.
The rescue team said: “With deteriorating light and weather, R151 from Inverness was called to see if they could extract the casualty. With great flying skills as always, the helicopter crew managed to extract the casualty.
”A small team of KMRT members made their way up the hill to locate the rest of the party and escort them off the hill and back to their transport.
“This was a very experienced and well prepared group who just got unlucky. Accidents happen.
