'Urgent' Scottish Water work on sewers in Kyle of Lochalsh will spark closure of part of Church Road, Highland Council has warned drivers

'URGENT' sewerage works will spark the day-long closure of a road in Kyle of Lochalsh – residents and motorists have been warned.

Highland Council has advised that there will be a temporary road closure on the section of Church Road, extending from the church car park northwards to its junction with Kyle Terrace on Thursday.

The work will start at 8am and finish at 5pm.

"This is to allow contractors acting on behalf of Scottish Water to carry out urgent sewerage works," said a spokesman.

"There will be an alternative route available via Main Street.

"Local access for residents will be maintained."
