AN urgent call has gone out to "natural organisers" on the Black Isle to help ensure the future of a community event dating back centuries.

The appeal from Fortrose and Rosemarkie Community Council centres on the St Boniface Fair which needs a new organising committee.

The popular August event is a staple on the community calendar.

It's a colourful re-enactment of the 18th century burgh fair.

A public appeal states: "After years of hard work the current St Boniface committee is stepping down. To keep this popular event going we urgently need to recruit a new team."
