UPDATE: Power back on for several Ross-shire communities as SSEN Storm Amy restoration work continues
POWER has been restored to an Easter Ross community at the heart of an earlier SOS appeal.
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) engineers have faced a massive challenge in the wake of Storm Amy with the transmission network battered by high winds.

Thousands of people have spent significant periods of time without electricity with 101 unplanned outages still logged across Scotland this morning, according to SSEN’s Powertrack tool.
One of the hard hit areas was the village of Inver in Easter Ross, prompting an appeal last night for help from a local councillor.
However power has since been restored there.
A number of customers are still understood to be off line in Garve, Achnasheen Maryburgh, Tore, and Strathpeffer amongst others.
SSEM has flagged set up welfare services in a number of areas and flagged compensation channels for those off supply for over 24 hours.
Invergordon Academy was forced to close due to storm damage which is being dealt with today and that has also affected Park Primary now operating within the same campus.
