A9 police incident in Inverness is a ‘one-vehicle crash’, Police Scotland officers in the Highlands have confirmed

A police incident which has closed a section of the A9 southbound in Inverness since around 1.40am is a one-vehicle crash, police have confirmed.

In an update, at 9am, Police Scotland issued a short statement regarding the closure, which stretches from the Raigmore Interchange to the Milton of Leys junction on Drumossie Brae.

The spokesperson said: “Around 1.40am on Friday, officers were called to a report of a one-vehicle crash on the A9 near Inshes, Inverness.

“Emergency services remain at the scene and the road is closed southbound between the A96 on slip near the Kessock Bridge and the Milton of Leys junction at the top of Drumossie Brae.

“A9 northbound and access to the A96 eastbound remain open.

“Motorists are advised to avoid the area.”

There was no immediate word on whether anyone was injured.
