Yamaha rider dies after road crash on Highland trunk road A87 near Loch Cluanie

A 29-year old motorcyclist died after a crash on the A87 near Loch Cluanie.

Police are appealing for information following the road crash involving a Yamaha motorbike which took place yesterday (Friday, June 6) at around 11.30am.

Emergency services attended the scene and the 29-year-old male rider was airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where he later died.#

The road remained closed until just after 6.30pm. Sergeant Douglas Scott said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died, and our enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.

“I am appealing for anyone who saw the crash and who hasn’t already spoken to officers to get in touch.

“I would also ask anyone who was in the area at the time and may have dash-cam footage which could assist to contact us.”
