UPDATE: A9 closed at Tain after collision between car and female pedestrian, police confirm

Police Scotland have confirmed that a car and a female pedestrian were involved in a crash on the A9 near Tain earlier this afternoon.

UPDATE: Road reopens as police confirm woman taken to hospital

The road has been closed in both directions at the junction with Craighill Terrace with emergency services attending the scene.

Police say diversions are now in place, but motorists are advised to avoid the area.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The A9 is closed in both directions at the junction with Craighill Terrace, Tain, following a crash involving a car and a female pedestrian which happened around 12.10pm on Sunday, May 25.

“Emergency services are in attendance. Diversions are in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area where possible.”
