Ullapool world-famous creel tree celebrations set to return

ULLAPOOL is gearing up for the official Christmas lights switch-on for its world-famous creel tree this Friday (November 29) at 5.30pm on West Shore Street.

Almost every business in the Wester Ross village will be open late, with special offers and festive delights to share to celebrate the annual lights switch-on.

The Argyll Hotel will be hosting live music from The Johnny Cash Duo from 8.30pm until late.

From 5.30pm until 8pm, Ullapool Bookshop, The Captain’s Cabin and Lochbroom Hardware will be offering free refreshments, late night shopping and local authors L.D. Lapinski, Andy Goss and Suzanne Parsons.

There will be a winter wonderland market in the Ullapool Village Hall, from 3pm to 8.30pm, with over 20 stalls as well as fun and games, a visit from Santa and a raffle.

For the first time ever, Ullapool and District Pipe Band will be performing at the lights switch-on, beginning at 5.30pm at the creel tree.

The West Coast Delicatessan will be serving up mulled wine, hot chocolate and molten raclette.

Jojo’s Cafe will be preparing local venison burgers, alongside other dishes.
