Two taken to hospital with 'serious injuries' after 'small explosion' in Dingwall

TWO men were taken to hospital with serious injuries following what was described as "a small explosion" at an address in Ross-shire.

The incident unfolded in Dingwall's MacRae Crescent on Sunday evening.

Police were called to the incident at 6.10pm after firefighters were alerted to the explosion.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 6.10pm on Sunday, February 2 to a report of a small explosion in the MacRae Crescent area of Dingwall. Two men were taken to hospital with serious injuries. The investigation is at an early stage and enquiries are ongoing.”

Firefighters were called at 6.08pm this evening following reports of what is understood to have been a gas explosion.Two appliances from Dingwall arrived on the scene at 6.15pm.

Firefighters used a hose reel jet, breathing apparatus and thermal imaging during the incident.
