Conon Bridge and Lochalsh community councils fall by the wayside - but Kilmuir and Logie Easter and Resolis good to go

TWO Ross-shire communities will not be represented in the coming months by community councils following an apathetic response to a call for candidates.

Community councils are sometimes dubbed the eyes and ears of local areas and a channel of communication to decision-makers and higher levels of government.

In Ross-shire, Conon Bridge and Lochalsh are falling into abeyance for now. But Kilmuir and Logie Easter and Resolis will form, it has been confirmed.

Following the deadline for nominations, Highland Council today confirmed that the following community councils have received sufficient nominations and will form uncontested:

Carrbridge Community Council

Kilmuir and Logie Easter

Portree and Braes

Resolis

Sinclairs Bay

Tannach and District

Unfortunately, the following four community councils failed to form:

Bower

Conon Bridge

Lochalsh

Smithton

There will another opportunity to try and form these in August 2025 when the next Notice of Election will be published.
