Dingwall butchers win national awards
Two Dingwall butcher’s pies have been deemed worthy of national recognition at the recent Scottish Craft Butchers Awards.
Fraser Brothers Butchers picked up the gold award for their Venison Pie in the Steak Pie & Speciality Meat Pie Evaluation.
John M Munro also won two silver awards for Festive Pie and Traditional Steak Pie.
The heats were held at Forth Valley College last month, as more than 140 pies from throughout the country were tested for appearance, flavour, texture and appeal.
The panel of judges included industry experts, food writers and interested consumers.
The event is organised by Scottish Craft Butchers in conjunction with William Sword and Dalziel Retail Butchery.
Danny Upson, sales and marketing director at Dalziel Retail Butchery said: “We are thrilled to sponsor the Specialty Meat Pie Competition! For a century, we've been dedicated to inspiring retail butchers with innovative solutions, empowering them to thrive in a competitive landscape.”
