Twenty-five more Covid cases logged in NHS Highland area as nationwide vaccination figures also released

ANOTHER 25 coronavirus infections have been recorded in the NHS Highland over the past day.

Figures released today show the region's cumulative total rising to 4551.

The seven-day total is 162 cases within NHS Highland's area.

Some 827 new cases of Covid-19 were reported across Scotland, the largest increases in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (202) and NHS Lothian (178).

There were 36 new cases in Grampian and one in the Western Isles.

No new cases were recorded in Orkney or Shetland.

Of 17,955 new tests for Covid-19 that reported results across Scotland,5.5 per cent were positive

There were five new reported deaths of people who have tested positive.

And the Scottish Government stats say that 99 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed Covid-19

A total of 1132 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed Covid-19.

On the Covid vaccination front, 1,431,942 people have received the first dose and 35,479 have received their second dose.
