Police Scotland officers appeal after three men assault another man in Tesco car park in Mart Road, Dingwall, Ross-shire

WITNESSES are being sought after three men assaulted another in a Dingwall supermarket car park.

The incident took place in Tesco's Mart Road car park at around 9.30pm on New Year's Day.

"Three male suspects were involved, two of whom had hoods up," said a police spokesman. "The third assailant is described as in his late 20s-mid 30s, 180cm tall, [with] shaved/very short hair, [and] wearing a distinctive black sweatshirt and jeans."

Police said that the victim, a 40-year old man, was not seriously injured.

Anyone with information should contact police by calling 101, quoting "incident NE 11/21".
