PROUD organisers have hailed the phenomenal community spirit on show when Muir of Ord’s residents got together to celebrate the village’s annual gala.

A busy week-long programme of events came to a head at the weekend Saturday, with the traditional Gala Day festivities.

And Alan Fraser, from the Muir of Ord Gala Group, was delighted with the response from the community.

“Muir of Ord has the best community spirit and it shows every year with the support each activity gets during gala week,” he said. “I am proud of what our wee gala group has achieved over the years and I look forward to what is to come for the Muir of Ord Gala.

“To everyone that helped with set ups, clear ups, hosting events, staffing the bar, sponsorship or support you are all absolute stars, the gala simply could not happen without you.”

Mr Fraser, who is stepping down from the gala group after eight years, added that it had been a “pleasure” to lead the team for eight years and that although he was stepping down he’d “be there supporting from the other side next year.”
