INVERGORDON is looking festive after the arrival of a Christmas tree and lights.

The coronavirus pandemic has forced the cancellation of many events traditionally staged across the year in Ross-shire.

But many communities are determined that the doom and gloom surrounding the public health crisis won't overshadow the festive season.

Cromarty Firth ward councillor Maxine Smith thanked everyone who has chipped in to the effort.

She paid tribute to Albyn Housing for taking on the sponsorship of Invergordon’s town Christmas tree.

She thanked everyone for working as a team to get the job done.

The effort was welcomed by many in and around the time.

"Beautiful it brings welcome festive cheer," posted Christine MacFarquhar.

"Oh lovely! A Christmas tree is just what’s needed to cheer everyone up. Well done all," wrote Morag Watt.
