AN iconic Ross-shire venue gearing up for a new chapter under community ownership plans kicking off 2021 in style with a gig by Dancing in the Moonlight act Toploader.
The Strathpeffer Pavilion gig on Jaunary 29 next year will mark a fresh start for a venue close to many hearts in Ross-shire and the wider Highlands.
Toploader are no strangers to the Highlands having previously performed at the Belladrum Festival.
They have also played festivals ranging from T in the Park to Glastonbury and played support act to acts as varied as Robbie Williams, Tom Jones, Paul Weller and Simple Minds.
They were the last British band to play the original Wembley Stadium when they supported Bon Jovi in 2000. The Brit Award nominated act sold over a million copies of their debut album and have maintained a crowd-pleaser reputation as a live act.
With Strathpeffer Pavilion now gearing up for its new future under community ownership, it plans kicking off 2021 in style.
The chairman of Strathpeffer Pavilion Community Trust, Fraser Mackenzie, said: “We are delighted to start 2021 with Toploader as one of our first ever fundraising events. The event marks the start of a very early joint venture with High Life Highland to put the Pavilion firmly back on the map within the music venue industry. This is hopefully the start of several repeat nights with more top talent coming to the Highlands”.
Support comes from local Ross-Shire band This Machine featuring former members of The Rites, Echo 20 and RAAR.
