Three pupils at a Highland primary school have tested positive for coronavirus.

Parents of children at Beauly Primary School and nursery were sent letters over the weekend informing them of the cases.

A Highland Council spokeswoman said the nursery, and two composite primary classes – P2/3 and P3/4 – were closed due to a number of pupils and teaching staff identified as close contacts of three positive cases within the pupils.

"The children and staff are required to self isolate for two weeks," she said.

"The rest of the school is open as normal.

"The council is working closely with the health protection team and letters have been sent to inform all parents over the weekend."
