A CLUSTER of Covid cases at a Highland building firm has sparked the closure of its office for two weeks.

Simpson Builders, based in Beauly, made the announcement via its Facebook page on Sunday night after a trio of staff members contracted the coronavirus.

Although the office will be closed, its building sites are unaffected as the firm said they have had no contact with the infected staff.

In its statement, the firm said: "Due to three members of staff testing positive for Covid-19, we have closed our office for 14 days.

"NHS Test & Protect has contacted any recent close contacts and they are now self-isolating at home as a matter of precaution.

"Our sites remain open as they have not come into contact with the positive cases.

"The health and safety of our staff, their families and the local communities we work in are important to us and we are following all official guidance.

"Office staff can still be contacted via email and mobile whilst working from home."
