Thirteen new Covid-19 cases logged in NHS Highland area bring total coronavirus cases in area since pandemic began to 983

A further 13 cases of Covid-19 have been detected in the NHS Highland area over the past 24 hours.

It brings the total number of infections in the region to 983 since the pandemic began.

Across Scotland there were 1303 new cases – with one new coronavirus death reported.

That figure may be skewed as Register Offices are now generally closed at weekends.

The seven-day total of infections was 7887.

1016 people were in hospital with Covid across the country yesterday with recently confirmed Covid-19.

A total of 86 people were in intensive care yesterday.

There were 18,026 new tests for Covid-19 that reported results – 7.9 per cent of these were positive.

The Highland figure represents a seven-day total of 76.

An extra 437 cases were reported in the Greater Glasgow and Cyde health board area.

That figure in Lothian was 155. In the Grampian area, an extra 55 cases were logged.

There was better news for the islands with no new cases being logged.
