BUDDING storytellers have been given a licence to thrill by a published author keen to encourage young people in the village where he lives to follow suit.

Colin McAndrew popped in to Tarradale Primary in Muir of Ord to coincide with World Book Day events last week to launch a story writing challenge which will see some of the Muir of Ord pupils’ work in print.

Mr McAndrew, who quit a high pressure job to pen his first novel, Sad Lisa, will help them transform their efforts into a book, Tarradale tales, which will be available to buy.

He said: “After the stress of my high-pressure career took its toll I decided to follow my dream and become a writer. Writing has changed my life and I hope to inspire the youngsters that nothing is impossible.”

Head teacher Tracy Sinclair said pupils had been inspired.
