Two-vehicle smash at Tain A9 junction

EMERGENCY services were called to Tain following a two-vehicle head-on collision on the A9.

The incident was near Knockbreck, at a junction near Asda. The alarm was raised at 2.04pm today.

Officers from Police Scotland were also sent to deal with the emergency and three fire appliances, as well as a community response vehicle, were sent to the scene by Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

When they arrived at the scene all occupants were out of the vehicles and firefighters made the cars safe using small tools.

They were able to leave the area at 2.24pm. No details of any injuries were available but it is understood they were not considered serious.

One eyewitness said one of the cars looked badly damaged as a result of the crash.
