ROSS-SHIRE villagers with a sweet tooth are counting the days until the opening of a new business at the weekend.

The old butcher’s shop in Muir of Ord is set to be unveiled on Saturday as the Tarradale Auld Sweetie Shop.

It will boast over 200 jars of sweeties, a selection of over 120 pick ‘n’ mix, and 50-plus fudges.

Aldo promised is candy floss, chilled drinks and bubble teas and Loch Ness ice cream.

Competition winners, who took their photo with Billy Wonka on the window whilst the business was under refurbishment, will receive a ‘golden ticket’ £10 voucher to spend on sweets.

A spokesperson said: of the Saturday opening: “We will also have a guest appearance from Billy Wonka, his wee friend Charlie Bucket and the Mad March Hare on the day, with a few other surprises along the way.”
