'Superb' evening hailed at Dingwall & District Accordion & Fiddle Club musical evening

Compere Ian Simpson welcomed a large audience and several players to the Dingwall & District Accordion & Fiddle Club musical evening in the Legion Club on Wednesday.

Accordionists were Graham Wilson, Alan Small, Colin Donaldson, Hamish MacDougall, Susie Simpson, Monica MacLean and Graham Wood. Throughout the evening, they were ably supported by Gillian Stevenson on fiddle, Susie Simpson on piano and Heather Donaldson and Maggie Jamieson on drums.

Young Fraser Donaldson acconpanied his Dad, Colin, and Mum, Heather and friends on piano.

Congratulations to Fraser, a very talented 13 year old, on his recent successes at the Grangemouth Music Festival.

Guest artiste on this occasion was the well known duo of Steven Carcary on accordion and Malcolm Ross on drums. They played many favourite melodies.These included traditional Scottish, continental and a singalong set for audience participation. They also played some tunes composed by Malcolm's father, the late Lindsay Ross.

It was a very successful evening with superb music from all musicians.

The next meeting is on Wednesday, April 5. The guests will be the Claire Gullan Trio with Claire on fiddle and Aidan Frost on accordion.
