Summer at The Home of The Singleton of Glen Ord
Sponsored Editorial with Diageo
The Glen Ord Distillery is celebrating summer with a number of unmissable events and exclusive experiences for locals to enjoy across the warmer months. Nestled on the edge of the Black Isle, close to the scenic North Coast 500 and vibrant Inverness, the distillery team invites you into a world of flavour at The Glen Ord Distillery. Here’s a taste of what to expect this season.
Drams and Delicious Dessert
Discover the slow craft of The Singleton through an indulgent pairing experience that reimagines whisky in a bold new way.
A celebration of fine craftsmanship, The Singleton has partnered with Master Pâtissier, Nicolas Rouzaud, known for his recently unveiled Maison de Haute Pâtisserie at The Connaught, London. Nicolas was inspired by the slow craft of The Singleton, creating this bespoke three layered cake to showcase The Singleton whiskies in a completely unique way.
In collaboration with Master of Malts Craig Wilson, each of the cake’s delicious layers have been carefully crafted to complement a different expression of The Singleton: The Singleton of Glen Ord 12-Year-Old, The Singleton of Glen Ord 18-Year-Old, and The Singleton of Dufftown 21-Year-Old whiskies.
The top layer, representing the 12-Year-Old, is a light caramel mousse with orange confit, mirroring the whisky’s delicate profile.
The base, inspired by the 18-Year-Old, has a gingerbread flavour with a firm, cake-like texture. Packed with dried fruits—apricot, fig, and raisins—it is coated with cacao nibs and praliné, creating a rich and complex bite.
On top, a chocolate decoration in the shape of a salmon pays tribute to The Singleton’s logo and the 21-Year-Old whisky. Made with roasted and caramelized barley, hazelnuts, and chocolate, it adds depth and elegance, inspired by Nicolas’ visit to the distillery, it is the first time that he has used barley in one of his creations.
This is a tasting experience not to be missed.
