A LANDSLIP on the Kyle Line sparked the temporary suspension of railway services on the route this morning (Friday).

The landslip was reported near Stromeferry by the 6.11am Kyle-Inverness train.

Engineers were on site by 8.45am to assess the issue, which ScotRail said was the result of a "large boulder close to the railway" which was "too dangerous to run trains past".

The boulder was safely secured by 9.13am, and trains were able to run past the spot again shortly after 9.30am – albeit at a reduced speed for safety.

ScotRail is advising passengers to expect possible delays and slightly longer journey times.
