Flashing strobe light triggers launch of Kyle lifeboat tonight





REPORTS of a flashing strobe light at sea triggered the launch of a Ross-shire lifeboat tonight.

Kyle Lifeboat RNLI volunteers launched around 8pm after the UK Coastguard received the reports.

The lights were seen in area between Kyle itself and the Skye Bridge.

The crew launched and located the light which was onboard an unoccupied moored vessel.

With nobody in trouble or distress, the lifeboat was stood down and returned to the station.
