Golden memories help Strathpeffer take steps to wow walkers
A LEAFLET to guide walkers through the historic village of Strathpeffer is the result of a series of popular sessions which encouraged locals to share their memories of the area.
Since June locals have been meeting to remember the built heritage of the village.
The sessions held in Strathpeffer and the Heights proved very popular with the local residents and has culminated in a new Walking Heritage Leaflet and a series of fictional short stories inspired by the facts identified during the sessions.
The Walking Heritage Leaflet and the Fictional Short Stories were launched by Lord Lieutenant Janet Bowen during the busy Christmas Market held at Strathpeffer Community Centre.
Also on display at the Market was an exhibition highlighting the information gained during the sessions.
The leaflet will be distributed around the area in cafés, public places and tourist information points and copies of the fictional stories can be ordered up from Strathpeffer Community Centre.
