The Strathpeffer Highland Gathering team is gearing up for the eagerly anticipated return of the event tomorrow (Saturday) with visitors from around the globe expected.

The event fell foul of Covid over the past two years and in 2019 was cancelled because of the weather.

Scores of events are being staged at the event which is being held in the grounds of Castle Leod.

Gates open at 9.30am with local field event competitions starting at 11am and all other events from 1pm.

Local events – open to residents of Ross and Cromarty – include everything from Highland dancing to running, jumping and cycling and heavy events.

For visitors to the area, it's a chance to see traditional Highland Games events such as tossing the caber while dancers and pipers have a host of different categories to contest.
