The individual had spent a night in a collapsed tent as Storm Bert hit before Dundonnell Mountain Rescue came to its aid.

A rescue team spokesperson said: “Three team members travelling through some atrocious weather were able to quickly located the walker on the track above Corrie Hallie carpark, he was quickly assessed and taken back to our Dundonnell base where he was warmed up, a short time later he was transported to Ullapool to spend a night in a warm hotel bed.

“When planning to head into the mountains it’s always advisable to check the weather forecast before heading out.”
