THE imminent arrival of Storm Arwen and weather warnings for strong gales and snow have sparked the cancellation of ferry services across the Minch.

All of Friday's Ullapool-Stornoway crossings are cancelled, as are the morning sailings on Saturday.

CalMac has also warned passengers that the Saturday afternoon departures from Stornoway (2.30pm) and Ullapool (6.30pm) are liable to disruption or cancellation at short notice, and to check on their status before travelling.

The night-time freight crossings from Stornoway at 10.30pm on Friday and Ullapool at 3am on Saturday are also cancelled.
